Avant Coast is a record label and part-time artist collective, releasing music by a local group of musicians who create free jazz, avant-garde jazz, creative improvised music and the like. We are based in the seacoast area of New Hampshire and Maine.

From 2007-2009, Avant Coast produced the “Avant Coast Creative Music Series”, a series of creative improvised music concerts at The Mills at Salmon Falls in Rollinsford, NH. These concerts featured local free jazz and improvised music artists such as Equal Time, Matt Langley, Tim O’Dell, Charlie Kohlhase, Fiveighthirteen, Forbes Graham, Human Beings Wow!, Luther Gray, Rob Duquette, Mike Effenberger, Jared Steer, and others.

Currently there are plans afoot to try an improvised music festival in the summer of 2012. More details will be available here as things evolve.
